Overview
Personal Effectiveness and Power is a highly experiential programme which will provide you with a range of influencing skills and techniques to strengthen your workplace relationships. We will work with you to develop influencing skills, explore the influencing process and develop flexible influencing styles and communication strategies. This programme will provide managers with the influencing skills and techniques needed so they can develop more effective relationships at work.

Programme Outline
Personal Effectiveness and Power consists of eight learning modules and a group coaching workshop.
The online programme is facilitated live over the course of four half-days. Modules 1 to 4 are delivered in the first week, followed two weeks later by the group coaching session, with modules 5 to 8 completing the programme.
The classroom programme is delivered as a three day residential programme.
Module 1: The nature of influence
Describe three different perspectives of influence as well as the behaviours and characteristics that have the biggest impact on our ability to influence.
Module 2: Self esteem
Define self-esteem and self-confidence and the difference between them and what this means for them.
Module 3: Influencing styles
Describe the difference between assertive, aggressive and passive behaviours, the links between them and understand how to make better proactive choices about their influencing behaviours.
Module 4: Influencing in groups
Practise a range of influencing behaviours to influence a group in real time.
Module 5: Personal power
Understand the 6 Ps of power and how individuals experience and give away power.
Module 6: Presence
Understand and practise how to gain presence in any situation using embodiment techniques.
Module 7: The impact of communication and self-talk
Define communication methods and their impact on behaviour, positivity and self-esteem.
Module 8: Values
Develop a set of personal values to better guide future decisions
Module 9: Group Coaching Workshop
The group coaching workshop is an opportunity for you to embed your learning by exploring a personal challenge with others in the group. You will be able to work on your scenario with the support of others in the group who also develop from being part of the process. At the end of the workshop you will have formed your own personal action plan to take back into your workplace.
